New Web Host - Eroute.net - Faster Performance

We have been down for a couple of days while experimenting with and ultimately migrating to a new web hosting company.  We have been hosted on GoDaddy for the last couple of years and there are some problems with the way their servers are configured when it comes to running a large (we have over 22,000 pages of content on this site) Drupal based site (NudistStop is a Drupal based website).  It finally got so bad that I had to hold my breath, take a big dive and figure out if we could get better performances out of another web hosting company.

I moved the site over to Eroute.net, got everything configured up correctly and the results are in ... the site runs MUCH faster.  If you have been the unfortunate recipient of the lovely "Internal Server Error 500" on the old NudistStop site, hopefully such will be a thing of the past.  Pageloads of the main page that took ridiculously long times, now are delivered pretty consistently in the 3 second range (there is an awful lot of stuff on the main page to deliver).

I have used Eroute.net in years past and they are a good, reliable company with good prices and excellent support.  If you are in the market for webhosting, particularly Drupal web hosting, I can strongly recommend them.

And here is to an improved hosting experience for NudistStop into the future!

Nudely yours,

NudistStop

UPDATE: 8/9/2011 - This was originally posted on 7/21 and now we have been running almost three weeks on the new host/server and I am happy to report that performance has been flawless and consistently fast.  Why it took so long to take the dive and finally get off GoDaddy I'll never know, but I am glad we finally did.  In all fairness to GoDaddy, I did replace some of the views which were running slowly with custom scripts that speeded things up considerably, but GoDaddy still had some server settings they would not change that made Drupal choke on a regular basis.  So they lost the business as a result.
